Below are a few exercises in 3D modelling and rendering I have been working on recently. I have used projects that I have worked on in cad in the past and also projects I have seen published, and recreated in 3D as a learning exercise. As I progress I will be adding more of my own projects.
Bedouin Tent Exercise
Two experiments in SketchUp, creating Bedouin-style stretch-fabric tents. Creating concave-like surfaces in SketchUp is made a whole lot easier with the fantastic Curviloft tool, created by Fredo6 over on the Sketchucation forums.
Carmel Residence, USA – Dirk Denison Architects – Featured in ArchDaily 30/05/2012
I saw this house featured on the ArchDaily website and thought it would make a great learning exercise for myself in SketchUp. Below is my progress so far, an internal perspective showing the Living Room and glazed roof Patio.
Discount Retail Store
This was one of the first projects I converted into 3D and had a quick try at rendering it too. Not too bad, for a first go, but I would like to go back and add some more detail and scenery to it sometime.
Johannesburg, South Africa – KB Design
A project I worked on in CAD a good few years ago, worked up in SKetchUp recently and gave a quick run through Kerkythea. A lot of tweaking yet to do.
